Why Do We Wrap Gifts with Bojagi?
At our Forget-Me-Not gift shop, most of our products are beautifully wrapped in Bojagi, traditional Korean wrapping cloth. Why, you ask? Well, the first time I fell in love with Bojagi wrapping, I think it was because of a mindset like “this way or that way, does it really matter?” There’s no one right way to wrap with Bojagi, and that’s precisely the charm of it.
Sometimes, the folds don’t go as planned, or a crease appears depending on how much pressure you put with your fingers. And yet, those accidental creases often make it even more beautiful. There’s no perfect way to do it, but there’s a sense of flow and grace in letting it be, just as it is. It’s about having the kind of patience and flexibility to appreciate the beauty in imperfection.
I think that’s what captured me—the effortless elegance, the subtle charm of bojagi wrapping. It invites you to embrace the little quirks and imperfections, to see them not as flaws but as unique touches. And in that, there’s a quiet kind of freedom, a graceful ease. That’s why I fell in love with it, and why I still love wrapping gifts this way today.
보자기 포장으로 선물 포장을 하는 이유가 뭘까요?
우리 포겟미낫 기프트 가게에서는 대부분의 제품을 보자기에 싸서 예쁘게 포장해서 전달합니다. 보자기 포장에 처음 매료 됐던건... '이런들, 저런들 어떠하리....' 같은 마인드 였던거 같아요. :) 보자기 포장에 정답은 없는 것 같아요. 어쩔땐 이런 주름이 지기도 하고 손가락 힘에 따라 잘못 지어진 주름이 또 더 돋보이기도 해요.
딱히 정답은 없지만 흐르는 듯이 있는 그대로 예쁘게 봐줄 수 있는 여유가 있다고 해야 할까요? 그런 유연함이 주는 여유. 이런 매력에 빠져 보자기 포장을 사랑하게 된 것 같아요.
손으로 직접 포장을 하면서 색감이 주는 힐링... 이 패브릭의 촉감이 주는 만족감도 보자기를 사랑하게 되는 이유인 것 같네요.
